SafeEntry for contact tracing
It will become mandatory effective 12 May 2020 for businesses to use SafeEntry (A national digital check-in system that logs personal particulars of individuals visiting hotspots, workplaces and public venues). SafeEntry enables automated routing of entry and exit log data to relevant authorities to facilitate contact tracing in our fight against COVID-19. SafeEntry is used for data collection and verification through (1) Scanning of QR Codes, or (2) Scanning of NRIC/FINs or other equivalent photo ID.

For SafeEntry NRIC, businesses are required to staff the entry points and provide their own mobile devices to scan the NRIC/FINs. SafeEntry NRIC allows venue owners to scan the barcode of NRICs (or equivalent photo ID) of individuals entering or leaving their premises.
